Eight Months Post-Ferguson:
The Journey from Recovery to Rebuilding
(April 6, 2015) – National Council of Jewish Women – St. Louis Section is teaming up with Women’s Voices Raised for Social Justice and the Community Against Poverty (CAP) Coalition, a program of the Jewish Community Relations Council, to host “Eight Months Post-Ferguson, The Journey from Recovery to Rebuilding” on April 16, 7 – 8:30PM at the Sheet Metal Workers Local 36 Union Hall, 2319 Chouteau Ave. The program is free and open to the public. Panelists include Reverend Starsky Wilson, President & CEO of Deaconess Foundation and Co-Chair of the Ferguson Commission; Todd Swanstrom, PhD, Des Lee Professor of Community Collaboration and Public Policy at University of Missouri – St. Louis; Gregory Carr, Sr., Professor at Harris-Stowe State University.
The panelists will speak about opening the communication and seeking sustainable approaches and solutions to what has been happening in the St. Louis community in recent months. They will explore ways to work together to understand and respond in meaningful ways. Individuals and organizations will be given specific steps to take in the months ahead.

“It is important to talk about the issues our community faces. This event aims to help participants find constructive ways to move forward in the recovery process,” said Lise Bernstein, President of Women’s Voices Raised for Social Justice.
