St. John’s Children’s Ministry is seeking enthusiastic and talented singers, dancers and character actors to volunteer in our anual summer Vacation Bible School stage production. Outgoing middle school, high school and adult performers who are comfortable celebrating their Christian faith with children Preschool through 5th grade are encouraged to attend one of the following audition dates and times.

Singers
Singers will be given a maximum of two minutes to individually demonstrate their vocal talents and gifts. Vocalists may audition a cappella or bring an accompaniment CD to sing to. A sound system will be provided to play music. Be prepared to stay for the dancers open call after the audition to learn a movement combination if asked.
Dancers
Dancers will be taught a short dance combination by our choreographer to perform in a group-type setting. Wear appropriate foot wear and comfortable attire to move in.
Actors
Every year, St. John brings to life several fun and wacky characters on the stage. Strong improvisational and characterization skills are necessary to be considered for one of these roles. At the audition, actors will be given a short script to study and will have the opportunity to read for one of the many parts available.
Technicians, Stage Construction, Costume Volunteers
St. John has volunteer openings for theatrical stage construction, costume and seamstress volunteer positions. Professional lighting, sound and audio/visual technicians are also needed to help create and operate the technical aspects of the production. General Information
- Vacation Bible School runs from 9:00am–12:00pm every day, the week of June 17–21, 2013.
- All persons eligible to audition must be entering 6th Grade for the 2013/2014 school year or older.
- Availability for rehearsals/performances is mandatory and plays a major factor in being placed in the cast. Please come prepared with up-to-date availability information through June 21, 2013.
- Performers may bring a non-returnable resume to the audition but it is not required.
- Middle School & High School students can participate in St. John’s Extreme VBS every afternoon after the stage production. Registration is required!
