The Confluence Chamber Orchestra, directed by William Bauer, will present a free concert of light classical music suitable for all ages, on Sunday, October 19 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 106 N. Meramec in downtown Clayton. There is plenty of free parking.
The afternoon’s program features Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings and Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings, as well as short compositions by Mozart, Beethoven, Sibelius, Holst and Frescobaldi.
Come a few minutes early to meet the musicians and their instruments -- and plan to stay with us us afterward for punch and cookies.
Ranging in age from 18 to 94, the orchestra is dedicated to lifetime enjoyment of playing string instruments and sharing music with others in free concerts throughout the St. Louis area. Their internship program supports students considering professional careers with music lesson scholarships. Donations to Confluence Chamber Orchestra are fully tax deductible.
