House Republicans Outline 2015 Legislative Priorities
Members pledge to focus on initiatives that will encourage economic growth, spur job creation, and defend our Constitutional rights.

On November 4, Missouri voters elected the largest Republican majority to the House of Representatives in the state’s history. The trust you have placed in our 118-member caucus is a tremendous responsibility. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the 100th district for another two years and look forward to representing your values and priorities in the House.
Your legislature will continue supporting Missouri families and businesses through initiatives that encourage economic growth, spur job creation, defend our Constitutional rights, and rein in red tape. Speaker-Elect John Diehl (R-Town and Country) laid out the priorities for the 2015 legislative session at a recent press conference. The House will remain committed to:
• Encouraging entrepreneurship and small business growth
• Balanced budgets that provide meaningful services while eliminating bureaucratic waste
• Protecting local control over education decisions
• Preparing students for 21st century jobs through workforce readiness initiatives and training in math, science, and technology
• Defending the sanctity of life and the rights guaranteed in the US and Missouri Constitutions
• Moving Missouri closer to energy independence
• Bolstering our state’s agriculture industry
As we prepare for session, our caucus will begin to develop policies and budget proposals based on these core principles of conservative governance. In the next few weeks, the House will undergo organizational changes and members will receive their committee assignments for the upcoming session. I look forward to continuing to be a strong voice for accountability in the budget process as our caucus begins a more concerted effort to oversee every department’s programs and expenditures.
For more than a decade, the Republican-led legislature has invested in our state’s future through pro-growth, pro-jobs policies. Your Missouri House will continue to prioritize reforms that will make Missouri a state of opportunity and prosperity for many generations to come.
