Parkway Students Receive Glory Awards
Fourteen Parkway West High School students visit the Missouri Capitol to receive the Glory of Missouri Awards presented by Rep. Sue Allen.
It was my pleasure to welcome fourteen Parkway West High School students to the Missouri Capitol last week to receive Glory of Missouri Awards.
The Glory of Missouri virtues are character traits that were so highly valued by the Missouri legislature in the 1920s that the Decorating Commission engraved them on the walls of the House Chamber when our Capitol was rebuilt.
Parkway West High School nominated students that exemplified each of the fourteen virtues, and I presented the awards during a ceremony in the House Chamber. I always enjoy meeting our state’s young leaders and their families, and it was an honor to recognize these students for their outstanding character and conduct.
