Throughout her Rockwood education at Fairway Elementary, Wildwood Middle and Eureka High, Cynthia Khoukaz benefited from a string of influential educators.
The 2020 graduate is currently majoring in Spanish and political science at the University of Missouri-Columbia, academic interests cultivated through classes with social studies teachers such as Jeff Cooper at Wildwood and Lauren Schoellhorn at Eureka.
Khoukaz said that language arts teachers Angie Sulmar at Wildwood and Andy Gensler at Eureka also made significant impacts on her educational experience."Rockwood has given me a great education, and I have learned an immense amount from the district," Khoukaz said. "I was able to experiment with classes I liked and didn't like as much to help choose my career path. I am so lucky to have attended such an amazing school!"Khoukaz also took the opportunity to immerse herself in extracurricular activities during her time at Eureka. She played lacrosse and tennis all four years of high school and basketball during her freshman and sophomore years. She was also active in service organizations such as National Honor Society, the E!Crew and student council, in which she served as vice president during her senior year.Those extracurricular activities are also shaping her plans for the future."I am interested in helping others and making a difference in the world," Khoukaz said.
