The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Mr. David Herod as the new director of Rockwood Early Childhood Education, beginning July 1. Mr. Herod replaces Dr. Suzanne Foshage, who resigned in February.Currently, Mr. Herod is the coordinator of Rockwood Early Childhood Special Education & Behavior Services, where he has served since 2018. Prior to that, he was the director of special services for the Wright City School District and the assistant director of student services for the Orchard Farm School District. Herod earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Missouri Baptist University, and a Master’s in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University. "I am truly honored to be named the director of Early Childhood of such an outstanding program in the Rockwood School District,” said Herod. “I look forward to working alongside our dedicated staff and supportive families to provide a high-quality early childhood education for all students."The Rockwood Early Childhood program serves more than 700 students and has been recognized as a State and National School of Character. Rockwood Early Childhood has three centers around the district -- Clarkson Valley in Chesterfield, Eureka and Vandover in Fenton -- and has classrooms at all four district high schools and Ballwin Elementary.Mr. Herod lives with his wife, Jessica, and their four children in Moscow Mills.
