The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Dr. Joshua Walz as the new principal at Woerther Elementary, beginning July 1. Dr. Walz replaces Mrs. Jane Levy, who is retiring after 21 years with the di​strict.Currently, Dr. Walz is an assistant principal at Crestview Middle, where he has worked since 2011. Prior to that, he taught ​physical education for nine years at LaSalle Springs Middle. He has also served as the Crestview Summer Academy middle school principal for the past nine summers, and he is a graduate of Rockwood’s Administrative Leadership Development program.Dr. Walz earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from William Penn University and a Master’s in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University. He also earned his Educational Specialist degree in Administration from William Woods University and his Doctorate of Education from Missouri Baptist University."I am honored and humbled to serve as the new principal of Woerther Elementary,” said Dr. Walz. “Joining the Woerther family is a great privilege. I am excited to be a part of a school with such an amazing staff and enthusiastic community, and I look forward to sharing in their passion to ensure that our Eagles soar at Woerther and beyond!"Dr. Walz lives with his wife and three children in Ellisville.​
