Veterans Day Services Set for Ballwin-Rockwood Schools

The Rockwood School District announced plans throughout the district leading up to Veterans Day.

With Veterans Day approaching Friday, schools in the Rockwood School District will be hosting various ceremonies and guest speakers this week to honor our service members.

Eureka High School
What
: More than 50 veterans, police officers and firefighters will be honored at Eureka High School's ninth annual Recognition Luncheon. Eureka High School Band Director John Arata, who has the distinction of being commander and conductor of the Air National Guard Band of the Central States, will give the afternoon's keynote address. The Lafayatte High School Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps also will perform the official music of each branch of the armed forces. Veterans in attendance also will be treated to lunch served by Eureka students and staff.

Woerther Elementary School
What:
A chorus at Woerther Elementary School will perform for visiting veterans. Parent Eric Bergantz, a helicopter pilot, also is scheduled to speak to students about his service in the U.S. Army.

9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10

LaSalle Springs Middle School
What:
Students will deliver their own personal addresses to family members and friends who have served in the military, and veterans will be honored in a special school ceremony.
