Woman Pleads Guilty In Abandoned Baby Case

Kaitlin Norton admitted to the charges in St. Louis Circuit Court on Thursday. Her sentencing is set for July.

A woman who abandoned her newborn in an Ellisville yard shortly after the boy’s birth in February 2012 has issued a guilty plea to a count of child endangerment.

Kaitlin T. Norton, 21, admitted to the charge in St. Louis Circuit Court last Thursday. Her sentencing on one count of first-degree child endangerment is set for July 25.

The charge stems from an incident on Feb. 16, 2012, when police say Norton gave birth in the basement of a boyfriend’s home and later that day left her newborn son under a tree between two homes on Westridge Parc Lane in Ellisville.
