5th Grader Receives Powered by Hope Foundation Medal

Teri Griege presents Peyton Wennenberg medal for her outstanding efforts to raise funds for cancer

Powered by Hope Foundation Founder & President and stage colon cancer fighter Teri Griege presented a “Powered by Hope” medal to 10-year-old Peyton Wennenberg in front of the entire student body at Ascension Catholic School recently to honor her for her incredible fund-raising efforts for cancer and, in particular, to Pedal the Cause. Peyton, who spent the majority of her final month in 4th grade at St. Louis Children’s Hospital fighting leukemia, was center stage as her classmates cheered her on and did their part to raise money for this year’s Pedal by donating money to dress down or wear orange (the cancer ribbon color for leukemia) that day at school.

The Powered by Hope Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to offering hope and support to those diagnosed with cancer. It was founded by Teri Griege a stage IV colon cancer survivor/fighter and competitive triathlete whose personal story of determination and perseverance continue to inspire thou
