Today's riddle: What is full of holes but still holds water? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Monarch Fire blood transfusion program credited with saving 2 lives (firstalert4.com) — A new blood transfusion program on Monarch Fire ambulances, which cover most of Chesterfield, has already been credited with saving two patients' lives since July. Paramedics now carry blood and plasma directly to scenes, and the district has budgeted to keep the program going while seeking a federal grant to equip all six ambulances and a quick-response vehicle.
2. Bellerive asks people to carpool, take ride shares to BMW Championship (kmov.com) — If you're heading to the BMW Championship, upgraded paid parking is still available at the O Lot on 1 Solutions Parkway in Chesterfield, with a short shuttle to Bellerive. Organizers urge fans to carpool or use rideshares because free spectator lots nearly hit capacity Thursday and even larger crowds are expected through the weekend.
3. 'For a hero': Gary Sinise Foundation begins Phase 1 of Officer TJ Brown's customized home (ksdk.com) — Injured Ferguson officer Travis "TJ" Brown is undergoing intensive rehabilitation in Chesterfield as the Gary Sinise Foundation designs a fully customized, mortgage-free smart home for him and his daughters. Therapists here are helping him relearn to walk and talk while the foundation works to restore his long-term independence and stability in the St. Louis area.
4. How data centers in Missouri converted neighbors into activists, from cities to farms (dailyrecordnews.com) — Missouri communities are organizing against large data center projects, questioning their environmental impact, energy and water use, and the secrecy of development deals. A Chesterfield-based environmental lawyer is helping citizen groups statewide challenge proposals, as residents from Pacific to Ferguson push for moratoriums, clearer information, and stronger protections before more centers are approved.
