The Bonhomme Church Preschool (formerly Nursery School) and Kids Day Out programs have been educating and caring for young children for over 43 years. The staff
is ever seeking to keep up with current research in the field of Early Childhood while meeting the needs of families in the surrounding communities.
After observing the growing trend to give children a “year to grow” before entering Kindergarten, Bonhomme decided to open a Junior Kindergarten class. The class is in its first year and is taught by two former Kindergarten teachers.
"The class has far exceeded our expectations,” said Carol Prosser, director. “The children are working really hard but they do not see it as work. They have so much fun while learning, and our parents are thrilled with the progress their children are making. This class provides a perfect bridge between a 4- or 5-year-old preschool class and the expectations of a public or private school
Kindergarten.”

More specifically, the teachers use a Saxon Math curriculum; work on basic phonics, blends, and sight words; and incorporate Science and Social Studies into their units of study. In addition, Junior Kindergarten students attend Music and Bible Class, Spanish, and Physical Education classes weekly.
