St. Luke's Dr. Thomas Vesely Named President of the Vascular Access Society of the Americas

Thomas M. Vesely, MD, of St. Luke’s Vascular Access Center has been named president of the Vascular Access Society of the Americas, Inc. (VASA). Dr. Vesely, an interventional radiologist, will serve a two-year term as president of VASA. The organization is devoted to the advancement of the field of dialysis access through promotion of research, education advocacy and a team approach toward improved care for dialysis patients.

Dr. Vesely has been an interventional radiologist for more than 20 years. He graduated from Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minn., completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education and completed his fellowship training in interventional radiology at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology in St. Louis. From 1990 to 2005, Dr. Vesely was an interventional radiologist and a member of the medical school faculty at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Since its opening in April 2007, Dr. Vesely has been a staff physician at St. Luke’s Vascular Access Center in Frontenac, Mo. 

St. Luke’s Vascular Access Center is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of central venous catheter complications. Its 24-hour/seven day a week scheduling helps patients reduce delays in treatments, avoid hospitalizations and reduce complications. For more information, call 314-995-7081.
