Anita's Depression Tip Sheet

Depression is a commonly used description of our feelings...

How many times have you experienced feelings of depression? Often, feelings of depression may be confused with feelings of grief and loss. For instance, it is normal to experience feelings of grief and loss related to death, relationship endings or other losses. Since many individuals have not had the opportunity to learn differences between grief and loss opposed to feelings of depression they say, ”I am depressed.”

There are two primary types of depression. Depression is either clinical or situational. Situational depression is experienced in relation to a distressing situation. Clinical depression is longer lasting and may require different treatment.
