The Battlegrounds Collects Muddy Shoes To Benefit Operation Food Search
Money to help local organization deal with the area's hunger issues

The Battlegrounds, St. Louis’ largest permanent mud run obstacle course, recently held its eighth bi-annual race and collected muddy shoes to benefit Operation Food Search.
The Battlegrounds worked with Funds2Orgs.com to collect and donate racer’s shoes to those in developing nations with proceeds benefitting Operation Food Search. The race collected 1,250 pairs of shoes for Funds2Orgs.com, which pays 50 cents per pair. More than $600 was raised for Operation Food Search.
Operation Food Search was established in 1981 to address the growing problem of hunger in the St. Louis area. The organization helps feed and provide personal care items to more than 200,000 individuals every month through 325 community partner agencies. One third of the people served are children.

“This is the biggest shoe collection we have ever had in our five year history,” said The Battlegrounds’ owner Carl Bolm. “It shows what a truly supportive mud running community we have because, when we ask for their help, they are more than willing to do so.”
