Art Is in the Eye of the Beholder

It's hard to easily describe just what Chesterfield Arts is, but this blog will give you a peek inside all that we do!

When asked what is, I find it very hard to come up with an easy answer.  There is the "mission statement" answer—Chesterfield Arts is a resource to the arts for the West County region.  There is the "mom" answer—Chesterfield Arts is a great place for you or your kids to take art classes, or maybe see a great gallery exhibit.  And, there is, of course, the "general" answer—Chesterfield Arts is a place to see and learn about all forms of art.

Truth be told, we are all of those things.  We have a gallery space that has shown many exhibits ranging from photography to painting to ceramics to "art installations."  Our performing arts series includes  The Nutcracker, local singers and even a few acrobats.  Our introduces authors and their stories to a new audience and our public art is spectacular!  We are many things to may people and hope to continue for years to come!

Last weekend we hosted our .  Artist instructors were on hand to give a glimpse into some of the camps and classes that will be offered over the summer and more than 30 children entered our LEGO Design Competition.  Watching the creativity explode around me was awe-inspiring!

In this blog, I hope to be able to touch on just a few of the things that make Chesterfield Arts special and an asset to our creative community!
