Chesterfield Dipping into Reserves to Cover 3 Projects

The city of Chesterfield will use $1.1 million worth of reserve money to fill in the funding gap on three projects.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the City Council unanimously approved the measure at the July 15 meeting. 

The three projects are:

1. A project to extend Kehrs Mill Road South (about $350,000 short)
2. Beautification work at Wild Horse Creek and Kehrs Mill Roads ($200,000 short)
   
3. Completion of the Monarch Chesterfield Levee Trail (about $550,000 short)

Mayor Bob Nation told the Post-Dispatch that, even with the use of $1.1 million in reserves for these projects city reserves will be close to $4 million above the city’s mandated minimum level of 40 percent of annual operations.
