Chesterfield Pool Opens Saturday

There's no denying it's summer now—school's out for both Parkway and Rockwood school districts Friday and the  opens Saturday. 

The pool, which features three slides, a competition pool, two diving boards and a lazy river, opens at 10 a.m. Saturday. Regular hours of operation are noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the weekends and holidays. 

A variety of activities are hosted at the pool each year. For little ones, the city puts on Passport-2-Splash, a punch pass program that lets parents and their children under 5 use the leisure pool from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning June 7. For Chesterfield residents, the cost is $30 for 10 visits for one parent and child. Ten-visit passes for additional children cost $20. One-time admission is also available for $4 for one parent and child and $3 for each additional child. 

For adults, there's the River Walk Club. From 9 to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, anyone over 16 years old is able to walk against the current in the lazy river. This is a low-intensity exercise. The program also runs from 8:15 to 9:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It begins on June 6. The cost for Chesterfield residents is $30 for 10 visits or $4 per visit.

Kids who want to learn how to dive can take part in a dive clinic, which teaches the basics through drills. Students will learn front dives, back dives, front flips and more. The clinic runs from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. on Monday through Friday from June 13 to 17. It costs $65 for Chesterfield residents.

If you're not quite ready to swim, you can wait a few weeks. The city is throwing a family pool party from 8 to 10 p.m. on June 11. There will be a DJ and residents get in free!

Otherwise, daily admission for residents of Chesterfield is $3 for children over 2 and seniors, $4 for adults. After 5 p.m., admission is half price. Season passes and punch cards for various programs are available at City Hall, 690 Chesterfield Parkway West.
