Breaking Thru Barriers: The POWER of Parents

Join the Rockwood Drug-Free Coalition and other program sponsors for an evening of information, resources and practical parenting tips on helping adolescents and teens make safe choices regarding underage drinking, drug use and other unhealthy choices.  Parents have the power to influence their children and make them feel "normal" in a society where music, TV and social media often promote substance abuse and sexual promiscuity. To be successful, adults must understand brain development and the dangers of gateway drugs.

Panelists in this interview-style program include prevention specialists, a Bureau of Drug Enforcement officer, parents and a young recovering addict with a powerful story.  Ample time will be allotted for Q&A.  Community organizations and treatments providers will be on hand to share services available in West County, and refreshments will be served.

PLEASE NOTE: While we are happy to co-host this event (and Patch listing required a local address), the event itself will be held in the auditorium at ST. LUKE'S HOSPITAL at I-64/40 and Hwy 141 (Woods Mill Rd.).
