First Bank Is Key at Junior Achievement Ceremony

Students give First Bank President and CEO Tim Lathe JA BizTown "keys to the city"

In recognition of the bank’s sponsorship, First Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Tim Lathe was presented the JA BizTown “keys to the city” on Friday, September 19 by Geggie Elementary students.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be a part of JA BizTown,” said Lathe. “Thanks to Junior Achievement for the opportunity to inspire students and prepare them for their futures.”

The JA BizTown presentation was held prior to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the storefront opening of the Dennis and Judy Jones Enterprise Center at Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis (Chesterfield, Missouri).

A longtime supporter of Junior Achievement programs including JA Day, the sponsorship deepens First Bank’s commitment to teaching children about entrepreneurship, personal finance and work readiness.

“Support from our business partners like First Bank allows JA BizTown to reach over 12,000 students this year,” said Lori Jacob, President and Chief Executive Officer of Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis. “These students have the opportunity to see the relevance of their education to their futures.”

JA BizTown is a mini-city where kids discover how the “real world” works. Each day, students become JA BizTown “citizens” where they work in businesses, make financial decisions, pay taxes, and donate to charity.
