Fox2: Armed Robbery of Chesterfield Home "Freaks Out" Neighbors

The audacity of the crime has shocked residents of the neighborhood, some of whom are now planning to purchase security systems.

The armed robbery of a Chesterfield home on Monday has unsettled some residents in the neighborhoods, according to a report from Fox2. 

The TV station interviewed citizens who said they were upset by the incident in which a couple arrived home to find a burglar inside their residence. The suspect threated the residents with an edged weapon, tied them up and then took off in their vehicle, which was later recovered.

People who live in the area like Jacqueline Collier said they are upset, "I think that`s horrible and it is a reflection of the day we live in actually." Another reisdent told Fox2 that "everybody in the neighborhood is freaked out by it."

The weekly Chesterfield incident report released Wednesday included the burglarly and said jewelry had been taken from the residence on Old Belle Monte Road. 

Othe residents are taking a more proactive approach to the news and purchasing security systems, like Richard Pauls, who also lives on Old Belle Monte Road.

"We're going to have panic button thing downstairs to set our alarm off in case someone would break in the front door and we couldn`t get to a phone or something," Pauls told Fox2.

The subject in the robbery was described as being 25-40 years of age, 5-feet-11-inches tall and approximately 200-220 pounds. He was wearing a black ski mask, dark clothing and silver or light gray tennis shoes.
