Mayor Slay Proclains CATCH Healthy Habits Day in St. Louis

Oasis Institute and Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield Foundation of Missouri Partner to help kids, older adults to eat healthier and exercise

It may have been April Fools’ Day but St. Louis City Mayor Francis Slay wasn‘ fooling when he proclaimed April 1, 2015 “CATCH Healthy Habits Day in St. Louis. The OASIS CATCH Healthy Habits program, funded by Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Missouri, is part of the nation’s largest evidenced-based, inter-generational health program that unites caring adult volunteers to inspire children to adopt healthy eating and physical activity habits for a lifetime. Teams of volunteers (aged 50-+) work with children in after-school and summer programs for up to 25 weeks. Each one-hour session includes 30 minutes of fun, active games, hands-on nutrition lessons and a healthy snack.
