MHS Student Attends Grammy Camp Music Program in Los Angeles

Marquette High School student Jennifer Firestone got a chance of a lifetime over the summer. She attended Grammy Camp: a live-in music industry camp where participants with varied interests learn how the music business works.

Jennifer spent a week with dozens of other students at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles working with industry professionals. She even met Ryan Seacrest!

At first, Jennifer was hesitant to enroll in the program. "I didn't think I would even get in the program," she explained. Her parents, Dennis and Allegra, convinced her to apply anyway--a mere two days before the deadline. The family said it was quite a shock when they found out Jennifer had been accepted.

"We are very proud of our daughter," Allegra said. "It was money well spent."

Jennifer said her favorite part of the trip was meeting so many different people and learning so many new things. She spent the week focused on the Music Business program, but she also got to explore other parts of the music industry.
