Mid-East Area Agency on Aging Receives Walmart Contribution

MEAAA Honored by Walmart During Day of Giving Event

Mid-East Area Agency on Aging (MEAAA) was a recipient of the Walmart Day of Giving event and received $40,690 for its ongoing commitment to area seniors in St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson and Franklin Counties. The event was hosted at Walmart’s Supercenter in Kirkwood.

MEAAA Executive Director Mary Schaefer accepted the check on behalf of the agency and said: “We are thrilled and honored to be a recipient of Walmart’s Day of Giving and deeply appreciate their generosity to help us continue our work especially our “Meals on Wheels” program to deliver more than 2,500 daily meals to home-bound seniors throughout the region.” The grant will be used to purchase a new delivery vehicle for Meals on Wheels in the North St. Louis County
