Powered By Hope Foundation Elects Board Officers
Organization Seeks to Bring Hope and Comfort to Cancer Patients
St. Louis……Powered By Hope Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that seeks to raise awareness about cancer and to inspire hope, inner strength and personal resolve to those engaged in a life-threatening battle, has elected its board officers for 2015-16. They include: Teri Griege, president, Dave Griege, vice chair, Steve Hays, treasurer, and Tyler Frank, secretary.
Ms. Griege founded Powered By Hope to carry on her mission to inspire cancer patients to beat the odds, even as she did herself. In 2009, she was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer, yet she found the hope and strength not only to fight her cancer, but also to achieve her next goal: to compete in and finish the 2011 Ironman World Championship. With Powered By Hope, she strives to inspire other cancer patients to discover how the power of hope can be transformational to the patient experience

Tyler Frank serves as Paramount Mortgage Company’s general counsel, as well as a licensed mortgage loan originator. A runner himself, he has completed a full and several half marathons and numerous sprint, Olympic and 70.3 distance triathlons.
The Powered By Hope Foundation presents commemorative Medals of Hope – similar to those presented to Olympic, marathon and other event athletes – and Coins of Courage – similar to a Challenge Coin or a 12-Step coin –to those in training for the race of their lives. A cancer survivor who understands the person’s challenges typically presents the medal or coin, providing inspiration and reassurance.
“These medals and coins are a token of support and a symbol of courage,” Teri Griege said. “Often friends and family members of those who are living with a life threatening illness want to show their support, but are at a loss for an idea. Rather than flowers, balloons, books, or bracelets, the Powered by Hope Medal of Hope or Coin of Courage is an incredible gift, a symbol of hope!”
The Powered by Hope medals and coins are available in select hospital gift-shops or may be purchased online at www.poweredbyhope.org. Volunteers are also need to help deliver the items to those in area hospitals and clinics. Griege’s biography, Powered by Hope, is also available through the website.
