Rock 'n' Roll 5K Hits Chesterfield
The race, called an "opening act" for a new half-marathon and marathon in St. Louis, started and ended at Chesterfield Amphitheater.
Runners were treated to quite a race Sunday morning near Chesterfield Amphitheater.
The Rock 'n' Roll 5K featured disc jockeys along the route to keep the more than 1000 runners motivated.The race started and ended at Chesterfield Amphitheater. The route went down Chesterfield Parkway and looped through the Chesterfield Mall parking lot. The post-run party featured the band Surrender Dorothy, plus plenty of snacks and treats.
The race is an "opening act" for the upcoming Rock 'n' Roll marathon and half-marathon in St. Louis. Those races will be held Oct. 23 in downtown St. Louis. Registration for those races closes Oct. 16. It's now $105 to register for the half-marathon and $115 for the marathon.
