St. Louis HELP Board President Joe Hayworth Extends Gratitude to Volunteers and Donors

"When we consider the commitments of volunteers that help any charitable enterprise, gratitude applies with a capital "G."

March 3, 2015, St. Louis, Missouri…Joe Hayworth, board president of St. Louis HELP, the non-profit program that freely loans home health equipment to people who need it, is thanking his organization’s volunteers -- and all people who donate time and effort to assist charitable enterprises.

“When we consider the commitments of volunteers that help any charitable enterprise, gratitude applies with a capital “G,” says Hayworth. “We cannot offer enough gratitude to volunteers in all walks of life who help any not-for-profit service organization.

“In 2014 St. Louis HELP volunteers logged more than 1,660 hours working in all kinds of weather to collect, clean and refurnish home health equipment, answer phones and log-in donors at St. Louis HELP’s warehouse. Volunteers handled equipment pickups, donor drives, data management and mailings, and helped organize and manage our special events.

“It takes a special person to be a volunteer and I am proud to say that every one of ours is a very special person. We deeply value their commitment and support, and we owe each one of them giant debts of gratitude. Volunteers are priceless!”

“Perhaps the most difficult part of my role as St. Louis HELP board president is finding words to express the gratitude that I and our entire organization feel for our donors, sponsors and supporters. It is impossible to list all of the generous people and organizations who made a positive difference with contributions of home health equipment, partnership activities, event support or financial donations.

“It is humbling for a small not-for-profit organization like ours to realize just how much we owe our supporters in terms of appreciation, gratitude and sincere thanks for caring enough to support our benevolent mission. I am sure that board members and executives at other not-for-profit organizations and charitable agencies feel the very same way.

“St. Louis HELP is motivated by charity, community service and helping people who are elderly, sick or injured, regardless of their lifestyle or socio-economic status. We deeply thank our volunteers – and you -- you for sharing our vision.”
