Two Firefighters Injured Battling Clarkson Valley Blaze

A home in the Forest Hills Country Club, located just south of Kehrs Mill Road, caught fire and suffered extensive damage Sunday evening.

Two firefighters from the Monarch Protection District were injured fighting a fire that caused extensive damage to a home in Clarkson Valley Sunday evening.

According to a report from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, no one was home at the time of the fire. It is believed to have been accidental and started in the basement of the home in the Forest Hills Country Club, which is located just south of Chesterfield past Kehrs Mill Road.

The Metro West Fire Department responded to the fire, which swept through the home and collapse a large portion of its roof, and called for back up from the Monarch, West County and Valley Park fire protection districts.

Putting out the fire proved to be a ferocious battle and a spokesman for Monarch said two of its firefighters suffered minor injuries. They are expected to be back on duty soon.
