Winter Opera to present Christmas opera The Wise Women

Winter Opera St. Louis kicks off the holiday season with Conrad Susa's "The Wise Women"

Winter Opera will kick off the holiday season with The Wise Women by Conrad Susa, sponsored by Mary Pillsbury Wainwright. Performances will be held on Wednesday, December 10 and Thursday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Skip Viragh Center for the Arts at Chaminade, 425 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

This charming Christmas fable tells the story of Three Wise Men from the perspective of their wives. The Kansas Star says, ” The Wise Women is kind of a modern mystery play, leavened with humor. And Susa’s music is pure magic. “ The Wise Women is conducted by Scott Schoonover and features Winter Opera resident artists, the East Central College choir, local high school students and a children’s chorus.

The one-hour opera is designed for children young and old and captures the magic of the season with audience participation and sing-along hymns. Hot cocoa and cookies will be served and pictures will be taken with Santa in the lobby. Tickets are $15-$30 and are available on line at www.winteroperastl.org or by calling 314-865-0038.
