Women In Science & Entrepreneurship Conference

Conference Fosters Connections & Conversations Among Researchers, Students, Entrepreneurs, Industry, University Faculty

The Missouri Cures Education Foundation recently presented its 2nd Annual “Women In Science & Entrepreneurship” (WISE) Conference at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. According to the Foundation‘s Executive Director Dena Ladd (pictured above center): ”The purpose of the conference was to inspire and enable women to reach new heights in science by fostering connections and conversations among researchers, students, entrepreneurs, members of industry and university faculty.”

The day-long conference featured Keynote Speaker Dr. Doris Taylor (pictured above on the left), Director, Regenerative Medicine Research for the Texas Heart Institute in Houston. Dr. Taylor kicked off the program to discuss her remarkable work and her journey on becoming a world renowned researcher.

Other conference highlights featured other impressive women in business and science who served on the following panels: Collaborative Research, Following Your Passion and Starting a Business, Thinking Strategically About Your Career and Innovative Convergence. In addition, there were vendor exhibitions as well as a cocktail networking reception following the conference.
