Bart Elfrink—a local film maker, Producer for the Food Network and Camera Assistant for the upcoming OWN - Oprah Winfrey Network production of “Sweetie Pie's Christmas Special”—filmed his short film, “Diners” in St. Louis Sunday at the Clayton Diner, located at 6 South Central Avenue, Clayton, MO 63105. This film will be submitted to the notable Sundance, Tribeca and Toronto film festivals, as well as others around the country.
“Diners” is a short film is about a pregnant wife and her idiot husband's quest to "Just Find Something To Eat" with interesting results. The short follows a couple out on their last "date" before the arrival of their baby. She is a food critic, blogging about fancy restaurants. Her restaurant of choice is busy, and the wait is unreal. They decide to explore other options only to find that everywhere is packed, and the idea of finding decent food may prove more difficult than first thought.
Bart graduated in 2007 from Southeast Missouri State University, and immediately after graduation, was hired as First Assistant Director on the low budget feature film "Fire Lily", directed by Kenneth L Stilson. and edited the film as well. He has worked on the nationally Televised program "The Outdoorsman with Buck McNeely", has directed numerous music videos, most recently for the St Louis-based country artist Matt Steel, and is the freelance Director at Mattel Inc in Los Angeles heading up the directing of their toy commercials.

He produces for Chef Martin Lopez of the Food Network/Cooking Channel, and recently wrapped production of the OWN Network’s “Sweetie Pie's Christmas Special” filmed in The Grove.
