RubinBrown Chairman Named Among 125 People to Impact Accounting

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants recently named RubinBrown’s James G. Castellano, CPA, chairman of RubinBrown, to its list of 125 People of Impact in Accounting.  The recognition list was compiled as part of the AICPA’s 125 Anniversary celebration with a full listing of those recognized published in the current Journal of Accountancy at http://www.journalofaccountancy.com/Issues/2012/Jun/20124960.htm.

In celebration of the AICPA’s 125th anniversary, the Journal of Accountancy set out to acknowledge those individuals who have made a significant impact on the accounting profession since its founding in 1887. Castellano was among the 125 men and women that were recognized due largely to his work in representing over 360,000 accountants while he served as chairman of the board of directors of the AICPA in 2002. Castellano committed his time as chairman to restoring public confidence during the accounting profession’s fallout from the Enron scandal.

Castellano has served at RubinBrown for more than 35 years and has led the firm since 1989. In addition to his leadership role at the firm, he also serves as chairman of Baker Tilly International, the world’s eighth largest network of independent accounting firms. Currently, Castellano serves on the board of directors for the St. Louis Business Diversity Initiative and Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Foundation. In addition, he is a member of the executive committee of the St. Louis Regional Business Council. Castellano also serves as chairman of the board of trustees for his alma mater, Rockhurst University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
