The HCC STL Foundation Announces Its “What’s Right with the Region” Award for the Latino Leadership Institute
FOCUS St. Louis recognizes The Latino Leadership Institute with the “What’s Right with the Region” award under the “Improving Racial Equality and Social Justice” category
March 7, 2013 (St. Louis) - The HCC STL Foundation recently received the distinguished “What’s Right With the Region” award under the Improving Racial Equality and Social Justice category from FOCUS St. Louis®.

“We are excited to receive this award for our Latino Leadership Institute (LLI),” says Karlos Ramirez, Executive Director of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “The goal of this program is to develop the next generation of Hispanic leaders for the St. Louis business community. The LLI lays the foundation for the next generation of Hispanic leaders and encourages participants to become involved in the community and serve as role models for their peers and young adults.”

The Latino Leadership Institute is a skills-based leadership training program that consists of nine training sessions conducted each month. The training sessions focus on a particular skill for the developing leader. The Institute educates and trains participants about for-profit and non-profit management skills, and network development within the St. Louis business community.
In addition to leadership training, participants are encouraged to give back to the St. Louis region through community involvement. The goal for the class participants is to develop leadership skills where they can lead an organization, lead one self and lead others in the organization.

The HCC STL Foundation was created in 2009 to accomplish charitable purposes, focusing on the Hispanic community of the metro St. Louis area.
