Clayton's Next 100 Years

As Clayton approaches our 100th anniversary, we're about to begin a strategic planning process. What vision do you have for the City of Clayton?

We're well into the New Year and those of us who began this year with "resolutions" are hopefully making progress towards achieving our goals.  Something I've always wanted to do as Clayton's mayor is to expand our community outreach by writing a blog...so here I am, a new blogger on Patch!  Clayton is a terrific place to live, work, or visit, and I'm honored to have served our community for eight years as an alderman and for five years as the mayor. With the help of the Patch blog, I'm looking forward to a dialogue with other Clayton enthusiasts.

As we approach our 100th anniversary in 2013, another goal of mine is to complete a long range strategic plan before the end of this year. We're close to beginning the process, and soon we'll be calling on our citizens for their input as we develop a road map for our community's future.

But let me ask you right now: as you look into your crystal ball what do you see for Clayton in the next 5, 10, or 20 years?
