Cycling Event Gets a New Name and Look

People of all abilities can feel like a racer at Ride to Unite.

The Ride to Unite (formerly known as Tour de Unitė) brings cyclists of all abilities together to cruise through St. Louis and raise funds to support cycling for children with disabilities.  The Ride to Unite will take place on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 10:00 am at Francis Park in south St. Louis.  The event will start on the race course for The Gateway Cup, a competitive race traditionally held over the Labor Day Weekend.

Cyclists will be able to participate in several exciting event components including a celebrity start with St. Louis Blues players. After exiting the race course, cyclists can traverse St. Louis on a well marked and supported route of their choosing from three different lengths; 4, 11 or a 32 mile course.  All three courses loop back and end at Francis Park.   The event includes an after-ride-bash from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Festivities include a celebrity meet and greet with St. Louis Blues players, music, food and refreshments, vendor booths, photo booth, special awards and prizes and a front row seat to watch the Gateway Cup races.

The Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments and Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis join forces again to host a charity bicycle ride.  Event entry is $30 adult/$10 kids and includes a commemorative dri-fit event shirt, bib number and prizes for the kids. Registration Opens at 9:00 a.m.  More information and registration can be found at www.dgckids.org/unite.
