Local Voices Clayton: A Special Halloween Evening in Hi-Pointe-DeMun
Hi-Pointe DeMun Halloween party features presentation of Historic Award
For the past four years everyone in 's Hi-Pointe DeMun neighborhood has been invited to a Halloween party on the grassy wedge at DeMun and San Bonita. It was resident Jan Anglin who believed having the entire neighborhood together for a party was one of the greatest uses for the green spaces which dot the area. And she was right because the people come in huge numbers.
What made this Halloween especially noteworthy was the presentation of an award given to historian, Esley Hamilton. Hamilton is the St. Louis County Parks and Recreation Preservation Historian as well as St. Louis' most respected and knowledgeable architectural historians. It was through Hamilton's efforts that Hi-Pointe DeMun was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. For this reason he was presented with an award of thanks from everyone who lives in the area.
