Gas prices are on the rise, congestion continues to grow, and St. Louis commuters are looking for a way to avoid the hassles of commuting to work.
Can St. Louis use the public transit infrastructure it has invested millions in to create livable, walkable communities in the region? Will developers build around transit in St. Louis with the right incentives? They currently want to build in areas with good highway/road access, will they choose an area with good transit access?
Join Citizens for Modern Transit on September 27 for a Breakfast Panel Discussion on The Opportunities Around Light Rail.

Hear from a local developer who is in the process of opening a $250 million development on top of MetroLlink in the City of St. Louis and the opportunities around three stations in St. Louis County and St. Louis City. What would entice developers to Brentwood, Clayton, Richmond Heights, Shrewsbury, Pagedale and other locations where we have light rail in place as a key to building livable, walkable destinations?
The event, which will be held from 7:30-9a.m. at the RCGA, will provide a great opportunity for local leaders, businesses, developers, real estate specialists, lenders, non-profits and citizens to hear opportunities available right in our backyard around MetroLink for development. Registration will be from 7:30 to 8 a.m. with the Panel Discussion beginning at 8 a.m.

Panelists will include Ken Christian, Beyond Housing; Betty Van Uum, Vice-Chancellor at University of Missouri – St. Louis; and a representative from the City of St. Louis. Also, hear from a local developer, Amos Harris, on what it took to take on the Mercantile Exchange Project directly above the Convention Center Station.
