Will higher speed rail ever happen in the Midwest?

On Wednesday, November 14 at 5:00 p.m., Citizens for Modern Transit and the Vanguard Cabinet’s Transportation Committee present “Tapping Into Transit: High Speed Rail in the Midwest,” a presentation on the progress and future of high-speed rail from Saint Louis to Chicago. Imagine a quick trip to Chicago from St. Louis by high speed rail! Where would the line connect in Missouri? How would any train improvements play into the success of intercity rail in St. Louis and Missouri?

Midwest High-Speed Rail Association Executive Director Rick Harnish will provide attendees with a dynamic update on the status of the high speed rail initiative and welcomes any and all questions.

Tapping Into Transit is a series of educational forums, engaging the public with developments, new ideas and how to get involved in transit-related affairs. These events seek to connect community leaders, businesses, interested parties and a myriad of resources with the information to make Saint Louis more interconnected through alternative public transit solutions.
