Capes Sokol Expands Products Liability Defense Practice with Noted Attorney Adam E. Miller

As a member of the Capes Sokol Products Liability Defense Practice, Miller represents Monsanto Company and additional corporate clients.

October 26, 2016, St. Louis, Missouri…Adam E. Miller, a distinguished products liability attorney who successfully represented Monsanto Company in nationally-significant PCB litigation, has joined Capes Sokol as a shareholder.

As a member of the Capes Sokol Products Liability Defense Practice, Miller represents Monsanto Company and additional corporate clients.

Miller gained national recognition in 2014 when he successfully defended Monsanto Company in litigation brought by three plaintiffs claiming they developed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma caused by the environmental exposure to polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) manufactured by Monsanto (Jacqueline Smith et al. v. Monsanto Co. et al., case number BC459771). A jury in Los Angeles Superior Court returned a verdict for the defense after a four-week trial. Adam has been involved as trial counsel in cases involving similar claims, including cases tried to defense verdicts in St. Louis County, Missouri and Los Angeles County, California.

Miller has more than 25 years of litigation experience representing national and regional companies, manufacturers, suppliers and industrial users of chemicals and industrial products in individual personal injury cases, complex mass tort and class action product liability litigation, and property diminution litigation. He earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law in 1990 and his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in 1987.

Carolyn A. Mulligan and three additional paralegals have joined the Capes Sokol products liability defense practice.

Miller and his team follow recent additions to Capes Sokol including a new trusts and estates practice group, three new lateral attorneys and one new associate in the last six months.
