City of Clayton Weekly Police Incident Report: April 13 To 19

For the reporting period of Monday, April 13th - Sunday, April 19th, CPD officers responded to 216 calls for service including 4 automobile accidents & 14 calls to assist the CFD. Among those calls were the following incidents:

Early Monday morning CVS employees observed a man attempting to conceal several items on his person. Employees confronted the man & the merchandise was returned.

Later Monday morning, a man stole several cartons of cigarettes from Walgreens. He was last seen leaving as the passenger in a vehicle that was waiting nearby. The same man returned to Walgreens Wednesday morning & again stole several cartons of cigarettes. A CPD officer was on patrol in the area & observed the man behaving suspiciously as he exited the store. He watched as the man entered the passenger seat of a moving vehicle. The officer conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle & after additional investigation, arrested the man for both incidents of stealing.

CVS employees reported a man concealed over $100 in merchandise on his person before leaving the store Thursday evening. Officers located the man nearby & recovered the merchandise. The man was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested for both the theft & the paraphernalia.

Lastly, while reviewing his home surveillance footage early Friday morning, a resident in the 8100 block of Stratford discovered an unknown man entered onto his driveway just after 4am & began checking the door handles on his vehicles. After finding the vehicles locked, the man left the area on foot.
