A building engineer contacted the CPD to report a vacant property had been damaged over the weekend. An exterior window was damaged & graffiti was found on both the interior & exterior of the building. A review of surveillance images showed that on Saturday morning, September 4th, there was no graffiti on the front of the building. However, pictures taken a half-hour later showed fresh graffiti & a board was removed from one of the windows. No suspects have been identified & the investigation is ongoing.

A resident of the 6300 block of Alamo awoke Wednesday morning to discover the catalytic converter had been stolen from his vehicle overnight. A resident of the 6300 block of San Bonita later reported his catalytic converter was also stolen sometime overnight. Anyone with information is asked to contact the CPD.

Later, officers responded to a local law firm when an employee reported ongoing harassment. The victim stated she began receiving repetitive calls & emails from a man requesting assistance from the firm. When she informed him their firm did not specialize in the type of representation he asked for, the calls & emails began to increase. Additionally, he started tagging & posting about the victim & the law firm on his social media account. As a result, she will be applying for an order of protection against the man.

Early Saturday morning, officers were on patrol in the area of Westmoreland & N. Forsyth when they discovered a man asleep in a vehicle. When he was awoken by the officers, it was immediately evident he was intoxicated. As officers attempted to identify him, the man refused to cooperate. Instead, he tried to evade officers by exiting the vehicle & ordering a Lyft. He was ultimately identified & issued a summons for Obedience to Police & was released to a sober driver.

A Davis Place resident parked his vehicle in front of his home Friday evening. When he returned Saturday morning, he discovered someone damaged his car by striking his driver's side-view mirror. Both the mirror & mirror housing were found lying in the street adjacent to his vehicle. Officers searched the area but found no other debris or vehicles with corresponding damage.

Finally, officers responded to a local hotel Saturday afternoon when employees reported a man was trespassing on the property. Officers located the same man who was arrested for trespassing at the hotel Tuesday. This is the 4th time the man has been arrested for trespassing at the hotel this summer. Employees reported the man stole items from the concessions area before walking into areas of the hotel meant for guests & checking door handles. When officers confronted the man, he was still in possession of the stolen items.

The man was arrested for trespassing 1st degree & stealing (4th offense or more). While in the intake area at the St. Louis County Justice Center, the man became verbally & physically aggressive with officers. As a result, he was additionally charged with failure to comply & assault 4th degree special victim. The case has been forwarded to the St. Louis County Prosecutor for consideration.

Until next week, stay safe!
