Drey A. Cooley of Law Firm Capes, Sokol, Goodman & Sarachan, P.C. Elected to St. Louis Health Equipment Lending Program (HELP) Board of Directors

St. Louis HELP is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that loans home medical equipment to any person who needs it.

September 22, 2014, St. Louis, Missouri… Capes, Sokol, Goodman & Sarachan, P. C. is pleased to announce that attorney Drey A. Cooley, whose practice is primarily focused on complex business, real estate and construction litigation, commercial and high-dollar residential property tax appeals and intellectual property disputes, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Health Equipment Lending Program (St. Louis HELP).

St. Louis HELP is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that loans home medical equipment to any person who needs it for any health-related reason. These include people temporarily disabled by injury, illness or surgery; those awaiting insurance company approval; those whose own equipment is being repaired; visitors to St. Louis who cannot transport their own home health equipment; and terminally ill individuals.

Mr. Cooley represents businesses and individuals in a wide variety of business, real estate, construction and intellectual property disputes in state and federal trial and appellate courts. Many of his litigation matters involve fiduciary disputes, construction liens, commercial fraud or copyright and trademark infringement.

Outside of the courtroom, Mr. Cooley represents for-profit and non-profit businesses and individuals in commercial and high-value residential property tax appeals in front of County Boards of Equalization and the Missouri State Tax Commission. Many of these appeals involve claims of overvaluation or, with respect to non-profit corporations, tax exemption. Mr. Cooley can be reached at 314.505.5486.

Mr. Cooley is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. He is currently the Treasurer of the Federal Bar Association-Missouri Chapter.

Mr. Cooley earned his J.D. at the University of Michigan Law School, and a B.A., Psychology, with honors, at Washington University in St. Louis. Mr. Cooley is licensed to practice in front of Missouri and Illinois courts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri and the Southern District of Illinois.

Primarily a volunteer organization, HELP accepts donations of nearly every type of home medical equipment in good working condition, except oxygen and medications. HELP revitalizes and cleans all donated equipment and stores it before loaning it at no cost to people in need or their caregivers who may keep it for as long as necessary.
