
"Fittingly titled 'Emperor,' Beethoven’s commanding Piano Concerto No. 5 is considered the pinnacle of the composer’s works for piano. Horacio Gutiérrez returns to mesmerize with Beethoven’s glorious concerto paired with Ravel’s colorful La Valse, a work devoted to the ingenious transfiguration of the great Viennese waltz," the symphony's website states.
