Gateway Gallery at 21 North Bemiston presents "Artist Driven" an exhibition by its local resident artists August 22 through September 28, featuring original traditional and contemporary acrylic, oil, pastel and watercolor paintings, photographs, sculpture and silhouettes. An Artists' Reception is open to public 6-9pm September 7.
Gateway Gallery's guest artists include Michael Anderson, Paul Bayer, Jim Irwin, Garry McMichael and Diane Tessman. Anderson is a well known painter with artwork in public, private and corporate collections across the country. Stone and marble sculpture are the speciality of award-winning sculptor Paul Bayer. Photography of wildlife by Jim Irwin features animal personalities, and creates environmental awareness of animal welfare. Garry McMichael captures his art with camera, charcoal, pastels and paint traveling the back roads of mid America. Inspired by color interplay, fibre artist Diane Tessman creates fun and affordable wearable art.
Gateway Gallery in Clayton is withing walking distance to other galleries and many restaurants, and is a 'must stop' destination for art lovers, collectors and designers. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday 11-6 and Sunday 10-5.
