Large Format Photography and Printing

Eight-week course beginning June, continuing through July 22
Mondays, 6pm to 8:30pm


This class will teach the basics of large format FILM photography and printing. Large format cameras were the tools of Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Paul Strand, and Julia Margaret Cameron. Students will use the Guild’s 4 x 5 inch Monorail View camera and various lenses for shooting. All printing will be done in the on site darkroom using Silver Gelatin black and white paper (Purchased by students). Use of film, paper negatives, perspective and focus control will be taught. Large prints up to mural size will also be introduced. This class is for students 18+.


PLEASE NOTE: Students will be expected to split the cost of mural paper amongst themselves (maximum $50 per student).
