Learn, Prepare Great Recipes Using Homegrown Ingredients with ‘Meet the Local Farmers’ Cooking Class at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis

When local, homegrown ingredients meet the creative know-how of The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis skilled culinary staff, the result is “Meet the Local Farmers” Cooking Class, a special day of hands-on instruction in the Clayton luxury hotel’s kitchens. The event will be held Saturday, May 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis to learn the benefits of fresh ingredients and to prepare a full menu featuring them. The chefs provide the instruction, but attendees of the “Meet the Local Farmers” cooking class do the actual food preparation in The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis kitchens.

The area food producers will be:
- Lee Farms
- Ludwig Farms
- Midwest Pasta
- South View Kitchens
- Salume Beddu

The day’s menu will include:
- Golden gazpacho
- White and green asparagus salad
- Pan-seared Missouri trout almandine
- Sherry marinated steak
- Pork schnitzel gurkensalat
- Rhubarb and strawberry lattice pie
After the participants prepare the items, they and the Ritz-Carlton chefs will enjoy them for lunch in The Wine Room. Cooking class students will also receive a booklet with the recipes of all the dishes.
The cost of The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis “Meet the Local Farmers” Cooking Class, which also includes breakfast, is $89 per person. Space is limited and reservations are required. For reservations or more information, call 314-719-1433.
