MU Extension's Taking Care of You--Mind, Body, Spirit

The Taking Care of You class developed by University of Missouri Extension helps participants reduce stress levels and improve lifestyle behaviors. In 8 one-hour sessions, participants learn practical strategies to incorporate into everyday life to better deal with life’s challenges and stress. The format includes discussions, mini-talks and fun activities. Participants will practice strategies during sessions and are encouraged to use what they learn outside of class. The registration deadline is January 17.

Taking Care of You is based on concepts and strategies from the evidenced-based group program called "mindfulness based-stress reduction" (MBSR), founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn, University of Massachusetts School of Medicine. The program also uses research-based concepts from the field of positive psychology.
