Fontbonne/KMOX Book Club Talks Basketball with St. Louis Native JoJo White

ST. LOUIS - The Fontbonne University/KMOX Book Club welcomes JoJo White, St. Louis native and subject of, “Make it Count: The Life and Times of Basketball Great JoJo White,” at its next book club event. The event will take place Wednesday, Nov. 20, 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the Alumni St. Louis Restaurant, 200 North 13th Street.

The event is free, but space is limited, and reservations are required. To register, please call 314.444.1827, and leave a message with your name, phone number and the number of reservations needed.  

“Make it Count,” takes the reader through the basketball career of seven-time All-Star and NBA Hall of Famer JoJo White. White’s career, which started when he was drafted to the Boston Celtics in 1968 and ended in 1981 with his final year playing for the Kansas City Kings, spanned an eventful time in American history that included civil rights landmarks and the Vietnam War. White based his successful career on good values and his own personal mantra, “Make it count.”

Fontbonne University is a Catholic coeducational institution of higher education offering liberal arts and professional programs, as well as evening and online formats for busy adults. Fontbonne was founded in 1923 and is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet.
