
Quadruplets were delivered July 2 at SSM St. Maryβs Health Center in Richmond Heights.Β
The two boys and two girls, ranging in size from 2 pounds, 6 ounces to 3 pounds, 12 ounces, are breathing on their own and doing well in St. Maryβs Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), according to a press release.Β Β
βThis is truly a special blessing,β said parents Aroloye and Salome Numbere of St. Louis. βWe couldnβt be more pleased.βΒ Β

The quadruplets are their first children.Β
Preparations for the birth began more than nine weeks ago with four labor and delivery/neonatal care teams on-call 24 hours a day, according to Dr. Mohamad Al-Hosni, medical director for SSM St. Maryβs NICU.Β Β Β

βWe rehearsed every possible scenario and timeframe to avoid any surprises and ensure the healthiest outcomes for these babies,β said Dr. Al-Hosni said in a release.Β
Each of the babies had its own neonatal care team which included two physicians and a nurse.Β
βEverything went as planned,β Al-Hosni reported.Β
Dr. Al-Hosni estimated it would likely be about six weeks before the quadruplets would be going home. Β Β
This is the fourth set of quadruplets delivered at St. Maryβs since 2006.
